Pulse Diagnosis in Acupuncture and TCM practice Pulse Diagnosis means that a physician feels the patient’s pulse by his fingers to know the changes of the pulse and identify the nature and location of a disease. It is referred as a unique diagnostic method in Chinese medicine and takes very important place in the Chinese diagnostics.
(1) Significance of Pulse Diagnosis: The blood vessels are the channels of blood circulation, connecting the Heart. Qi and Blood are circulating in meridians and vessels under the power of Heart-Qi, the process of which is called pulsation (pulse pattern). In addition, the circulation of Qi and Blood also depends on the coordination of other Zang-Fu organs, such as the Lungs, Spleen, Liver and Kidneys. In the normal condition, normal circulation of Qi and Blood and normal functions of internal organs lead normal and stable pulse. When the Qi and Blood of the internal organs have certain disorders, the corresponding changes on flowing speed of Qi and Blood, amount of circulated Qi and Blood and their mutual interactions may occurred, leading to abnormal pulse. Then, through normal pulse condition we may identify the abnormal pulse, and predict the exterior or interior location, cold or heat nature, deficiency or excess characters of a disease as well as its prognosis. |

To ensure this code release, Wilco Jansen resorted to sending rum to joint lead-developer Johan Janssens. Johan, who's had a penchant for rum ever since the first "Pirate's of the Caribbean" movie screened, took the bait, mixed it with Cola, and here we are with our latest 1.5 release. It looks like pirate talk will figure quite a lot in future Joomla! development! |

The FTP Layer allows file operations (such as installing Extensions or updating the main configuration file) without having to make all the folders and files writable. This has been an issue on Linux and other Unix based platforms in respect of file permissions. This makes the site admin's life a lot easier and increases security of the site. You can check the write status of relevent folders by going to ''Help->System Info" and then in the sub-menu to "Directory Permissions". With the FTP Layer enabled even if all directories are red, Joomla! will operate smoothly. NOTE: the FTP layer is not required on a Windows host/server. |
